Focus Pathology Medical Laboratory, PLLC is a national Anatomic Pathology laboratory accredited by New York State Department of Health and located in a brand-new state of the art facility in New York Metropolitan area. The laboratory provides fast and reliable specialty biopsy interpretation services to the hospitals and physicians’ offices in the field of Anatomic Pathology.

 

The diagnoses are rendered by Board-certified fellowship trained physicians lead by the laboratory’s Medical Director Dr. Ekaterina Castano. Dr. Castano is a graduate of Columbia University and completed sub-specialty fellowship training in Renal and Genitourinary Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine. The laboratory offers biopsy interpretation of Renal, Genitourinary, Muscle, Nerve, and other biopsies including post-transplant biopsy interpretation. Consultations and second opinions by the leaders in the field are offered as well.

The laboratory offers 24-48 hours turn-around time for reporting the results using a secure server and the latest Laboratory Information System to deliver the reports to clients. The biopsy report is a 3-5-page comprehensive summary of findings including the diagnosis, comment, and microscopic description as well as multiple colored photomicrographs (most laboratories do not provide images with reports). Every renal biopsy preliminary result is discussed with the ordering physician. The biopsy kits, requisition forms, and instructions are provided to the clients at no additional charge.
